Ladies and gentlemen, this will be my final post in this blog. I’m leaving PC Treasures tomorrow so I can go live in New York City. Wish me luck! Thanks for wishing me luck! Hopefully someone cool takes over this blog, but, who knows? It could just get deleted. Anyway, it’s been fun, people. I’d like you to watch this farewell video someone put together (by someone I mean definitely not me. In no way did I spend four days editing this). Good luck everyone! Bye!

Happy Birthday, Leslie!
March 24th, 2011Once a month, we gather upstairs in our big, fancy break room to celebrate the employee birthdays for that month. We get a lot of food for everyone - okay, Doris gets a lot of food for everyone - and we spend an hour eating, talking, and eating. This month, we celebrated the birth of our new hire, Leslie Charania. Our tradition is that the guest or guests of honor get to choose what kind of cake or dessert they’d like. Leslie selected tiramisu. For good measure, Doris also bought a carrot cake, and my personal favorite, ice cream cake. Few things make me happier than something looking like a cake, and ending up being something even better than a cake.

So, it was a pretty good day! Thanks for getting us these delicious desserts, Doris! And thanks to Casey’s chicken for having such a great menu. Check them out if you live in Lake Orion. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LESLIE!
Thanks, Akismet! So Long, Spam!
March 21st, 2011Since having the akismet plugin installed on our blog, we have seen a dramatic decrease in annoying, nonsensical spam messages. As a matter of fact we have gone from receiving anywhere from 5 to 15 spam comments a day to receiving absolutely zero. Those are what I call results!
That means we are safe from comments like these:
“This post makes me wondering about many things
“
“Keep the faith, my Internet friend. You are a first-class writer and deserve to be heard.”
“Maybe you’re right, but I still have my own opinion about this.”
“Family guy is the best show on tv… No question.”
“Hey. My family and I are traveling and I have been trying to show them your blog, but I hadn’t saved it before we left home and therefore it took me FOREVER to find it using Google . Now that I have found it, the reason why I wanted to show them, is I am convinced that you and I are in competition with our blogs. I believe there are enough people in the world to where we can both survive, but I wanted you to know what I am using to get fresh content while I am on vacation as it is only fair. Take care and I look forward to the continued competition when I return home!!”
Ah, spam sure is fun. You know something, I’m going to miss those goofballs. All our little friends. It’s been quite entertaining. I know that akismet still files away the spam comments in a separate folder but it’s just not the same. I miss being forced to read them every day. It’s been a wild ride, spam! Take care!
Congratulations to Frank and Maria!
March 18th, 2011This week, PC Treasures officially hired two people who have been dedicated and reliable temp workers here for over a year. We couldn’t be more excited to have these two wonderful people become full-time employees. It’s so nice to see great things happen to people who deserve it. And now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you Frank Helms and Maria Dragan!
Frank Helms

Frank Helms began working here three and a half years ago, and quickly asserted himself as one of the most valuable temps in PC Treasures history. Not only does he work harder than guys half his age, but he brings a sense of humor to the table that makes even the longest days that much more bearable. Although Frank has admitted to enjoying the occasional time off that he’s received due to his temp status, he has become an essential part of the team whether he likes it or not. Things are noticeably not the same in the warehouse when Frank isn’t around. The days lack a certain energy and humor that only he can bring. Good thing we won’t have to worry about that anymore!
FRANK TRIVIA
Hobbies: When Frank isn’t stacking the tightest, neatest skids ever assembled in the PC Treasures warehouse, he busies himself as a live entertainer, performing at weddings and other events. He’s entertained many of us on the line with his surprisingly beautiful singing voice.
Lives in: Davison
Kids: 3
Wife: Melonie
Favorite Food: Meatloaf
Favorite Singer: Meatloaf
On Getting Hired: “It’s good to finally be legit. And now, I’m too legit to quit.”
Check out Frank’s wonderful acting in this video, “Wise Frank Explains the PowerNOW! Dual”
Maria Dragan

Maria came to us about a year and a half ago. She immediately showed a high level of professionalism and a work ethic that made her an obvious candidate for a full-time employee. We all knew it was only a matter of time! After slugging it out for about a year on the production line, Maria was recruited as an assistant to Ann in the fulfillment department. Here we are months later, and she is doing that job full-time, much to the delight of all her coworkers. We love Maria for her endlessly charming personality. She can brighten up any day with her optimism and infectious laughter. Oh, and by the way, her last name is pronounced “Dra-gahn,” not “Dragon.” There is nothing at all dragon-like about this lovely lady!
MARIA TRIVIA
Lives in: Romeo
Kids: 2
Husband: Marian
Favorite food: Italian (even though she’s Romanian)
Hobbies: Painting, Gardening
On getting hired: “Everyone’s been coming up to me and congratulating me all week. They’re happy and I’m happy. And I’m happy for Frank.”
Here’s Maria’s fine acting skills in the sneak preview for one of our unboxing videos:
CONGRATULATIONS FRANK AND MARIA!!!!!!!!!
DORIS WINS!!

We’ve tallied the votes, and Doris has been elected as our new facebook profile picture. Congratulations, Doris!
